WordPress trademark transferred to the WordPress Foundation
Matt Mullenweg has announced that Automattic has transferred the WordPress trademark to the non-profit WordPress Foundation , which is, according to the post, dedicated to “promoting and ensuring access to WordPress and related open source projects in perpetuity.” Regarding the transfer, Mullenweg wrote: “It’s important for me to know that WordPress will be protected and that the brand will continue to be a beacon of open source freedom regardless of whether any company is as benevolent as Automattic has been thus far.

WordCamp NYC is focused on local speakers this year , so anyone in the New York area is particularly encouraged to submit ideas. Use Campaign Monitor with Contact Form 7
The official Campaign Monitor blog recently reported on Joshua Bettigole’s Campaign Monitor Add-On for the popular form management plugin Contact Form 7. Rather than having to regularly export form entries and import them into Campaign Monitor to keep a subscriber list updated, the add-on extends Contact Form 7 and enables it to synchronize forms with a Campaign Monitor subscriber list.

WordCamp NYC 2010 announced, date set
Jane Wells updated the WordCamp NYC blog to officially announce the dates for the 2010 event today. WordCamp NYC will be held October 16-17 at Bratuch College, in New York City. There are two other conferences happening the same weekend: BlogWorldExpo in Las Vegas and an open source conference in Pennsylvania
WordPress Shop becomes WPSwagStore.com
For a couple of weeks now we have been refreshing the official WordPress shop website every day, only to see the same holding page (above) for a few weeks. But in the last few days the (now) old URL shop.wordpress.net has started redirecting to WPSwagStore.com . It’s likely safe to assume the shop has been renamed to the WordPress Swag Store, and it in turn is getting a facelift
